AECOM has a position available for a Stormwater Engineer that can be located in Santa Maria, CA, Denver, CO, Austin, TX, Raleigh, NC, Arlington, VA, Boston, MA or any other AECOM office in the United States.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supporting a variety of project needs on all facets of regulatory compliance relating to stormwater management, wastewater management, stormwater permit support, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) development, Spill Prevention Countermeasure Control Plans (SPCC) development, compliance site assessments, and water quality assessments/analyses.
The role will consist of the following technical responsibilities:
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
Specialize in the preparation of technical reports such as Jurisdictional Runoff Management Plans, Water Quality Technical Reports, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) for construction and industrial applications, development of Spill Prevention Countermeasure Control Plans (SPCC) and Facility Response Plans, Oil Discharge Contingency Plans, Integrated Emergency Response Plans.
Creative solutions to assist clients maintain regulatory compliance to common challenges
Working with regulators for permit revisions and development.
Delegate work, mentor, and supervise junior staff while managing tasks of varying size and complexity.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables including reviews of design calculations or drawings.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Provide creative project approaches through written, verbal, and graphic communication

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
6+ years of engineering and design experience focused on study, analysis, and design, for large projects with stormwater and wastewater compliance and various sizes of SWPPP and SPCC plans.
One or more professional certification(s) related to stormwater compliance (CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI, CMS4S, QSP/D, QISP, ToR, etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state environmental legislation and regulations with focus on stormwater, wastewater, and water quality/hydrology, NPDES permitting and/or the Clean Water Act.
HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcMap, MS Excel and other advanced modeling software.
Must be willing of working outside, sometimes in inclement weather and possibly rough terrain
Nationwide travel is required for this position (50% of the time)
Pre-employment motor vehicle record verification is required
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Highly desired, 6+ years of experience in related field, consulting to the United States Air Force (USAF), Air National Guard (ANG), and/or other Federal clients
Highly preferred, experience using current engineering design and analysis software such as ArcGIS, ESRI AGOL, AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, EPA SWMM
PE license desired - preferably in multiple states
Familiarity with all 40 CFR part 112 requirements and state variances desired
Articulate oral and written communication skills (a relevant writing sample may be requested)
Some mentorship experience is a plus
