Position Title Utilities Field Superintendent

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Utilities Field Superintendent for immediate employment in the Sandy Springs, GA office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for day to day inspection of assigned utility permits to ensure utility/contractors are adhering to the City utility policy
Leads weekly utility/contractor update/scheduling meetings and special meetings including recording minutes and action items
Monitors utility/contractor personnel/activities
Ensures job sites adhere to the current edition of MUTCD
Ensures implementation of proper safety protocol that creates a safe and healthy work environment through the job site and adheres to OSHA safety and recordkeeping requirements.
Takes lead on productivity issues and monitors work performance and productivity of utility/contractors to ensure project schedules are followed and the project is executed effectively and with minimal disruption to adjacent property owners
Advises senior level management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties, while assisting in circumventing or mitigating such conflicts. Provide assistance to involved utility/contractors in resolving problems
Ensures compliance with all internal and external recordkeeping requirements
Provides liaison between utility/contractor and adjacent property owners in issue/conflict resolution
Provides liaison between senior management and utility/ contractors to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications, and City quality standards and that the project is completed on time and restorations are completed to meet City standards
Performs additional assignments as directed by superiors or as required for successful project completion
Inspects/validates workmanship and product quality to conform to City standards
Subject to rotational after-hours on-call responsibilities, also subject to participate in Public Works emergency response/severe weather operations including uncommon shifts
High School Diploma
2+ years construction inspection experience with a minimum of 1 year in utility installation/inspection
Uses time-proven leadership techniques to help contractors fulfil permit requirements
Ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems and to communicate effectively with diverse groups required
Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, scheduling, and quality control
Working knowledge of City computer systems and software necessary
Must have comprehensive understanding of MUTCD
Ability to work well under pressure with an organized approach to managing tasks, time and workload
Ability to obtain GA SWCC Level 1B certification within one year
May require work on nights, weekends and holidays as well as rotational on-call work of up to one week per month

Will require visits to project sites
Employee must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all safety policies and must be willing to report and/or act on safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel;
Requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; dangerous and/or hazardous environments; must be flexible and able to adapt to frequent changes in work priorities;
Incumbent is expected to meet attendance standards as determined by management. Employee must be available and willing to work according to the assigned schedule. Must be available and willing to work overtime, (including daily, weekend and holidays) as determined by management as necessary to meet the business needs;
Incumbent will perform duties in a combination of outside work and an office environment. Job requires employee to perform duties at a job site; at times working along and at times working very closely with others;
Position requires outside work, subject to all types of weather and temperature conditions. Incumbents may be exposed to chemicals, solvents, fumes, smoke, and gases and various types of surfaces, including slippery or uneven surfaces;
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the use of both eyes and the ability to adjust focus; and
Must be able to move or carry objects or materials. Must be able to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and up to twenty pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for active work.
Must possess a GA valid driver's license
