Due to our strong pipeline of projects in Ivory Coast, San Pedro within the transportation field we may have an opening for an experienced Project Manager.

The Project Manager (PM):

  • Is accountable to the Project Approver (PA) for successful project delivery;

  • Reports directly to and takes instruction from the PA;

  • Manages and leads the AECOM project team that executes all project delivery activities, including both construction-related and compliance/governance-related;

  • Is named as “The Engineer” in the project’s FIDIC Red Book and Yellow Book contracts, and;

  • Liaises closely with the PA, the Deputy Project Manager (DPM), the Marine, Landside and Construction Support Team Leads (TLs) and their subordinates, with AECOM’s Client and with the Client’s Contractor/s.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The PM has overall accountability and responsibility for:

  • Establishing and maintaining a complete understanding of AECOM’s project delivery obligations under its consultancy agreement with the Client;

  • Ensuring compliance with:

  • the delivery obligations placed upon AECOM in terms of the letter and the spirit of its consultancy agreement with the Client;

  • all of AECOM’s internal policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to governance, health, safety, security, the environment, social performance, ethics and diversity, as they affect project execution;

  • Ensuring the efficacy of AECOM’s invoicing and revenue-collection activities;

  • Fully immersing himself in any and all activities related to the execution of the project, including but not limited to attendance on site, attending meetings, and engaging with personnel of AECOM, the Client and the Client’s Contractor/s;

  • Synthesising appropriate and sound actions that will bring about the requisite improvement in project execution in the shortest possible time, at the least possible additional cost, and without creating unsafe, unhealthy or environmentally-damaging conditions;

  • Identifying areas for improvement in project execution, implementing these where they fall within his authority in accordance with AECOM’s Approvals Matrix and the project’s RACI matrix, or reporting them without fear or favour to the PA where they fall outside his authority.

  • Assessing the effect of the actions, once implemented, and for identifying and implementing further remedial action;

  • Establishing and maintaining ethical, business-appropriate, sound and constructive relationships with:

  • the PA, the DPM, the TLs, their subordinates and such other AECOM personnel as may be appropriate to any task assigned to him;

  • AECOM’s Client, and in particular its Head of Construction, and;

  • Contractors appointed by AECOM’s Client.

  • The hiring, firing, transferring, disciplining and developing of project personnel in accordance with the project RACI matrix.

  • Undertaking any other reasonable tasks and duties assigned to him.

Minimum Requirements


  • Minimum 20 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Project Management Qualification.
