Job Summary

The Transportation Department of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer for immediate employment in the San Francisco, CA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an academic or working knowledge in Traffic Engineering. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including planning and design development.

This position will be a key member of the Transportation Department in San Francisco Metro Area, responsible supporting ITS planning/engineering projects in the Bay Area. The successful candidate will assist in the continued growth of the transportation business, and will interact with both clients and staff. Will be required make professional presentations to client or agency representatives from time to time. Will also interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM. Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists.

The location of this position is flexible to the San Francisco, Oakland, or San Jose office.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Perform planning, analysis and design development for ITS implementation projects on roadway networks.

  • Prepare written reports and presentations of project findings that support moving projects into design.

  • Perform analytical tasks including data collection and analysis.

  • Interact with multi-discipline and multi office teams.

  • Develop planning documents.

  • Develop preliminary and final designs.

  • Interact with project Systems Integrators.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering.

  • 2+ years of experience.

  • Strong knowledge of ITS with experience in analysis, surveillance, inventory and support of a variety of highway and Transportation Management Systems to design, manage and monitor the performance of electrical installations and transportation management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree with an emphasis on Transportation Engineering a plus
