Aecom San Diego is looking for a Senior Project Controls Analyst.
The Sr. Project Controls Specialist is responsible, under general supervision, for providing budget, commitment, and cost forecasting support for assigned projects across the Airport Design and Construction (ADC) Group, including the Capital Improvement Program Element, Airport Development Program Element and Airport Support Facilities Element. The successful candidate will have proven cost engineering experience with complex, multi-phase, multi-million dollar airport construction and/or renovation projects.
Job Duties
The Sr. Project Controls Specialist duties include, but are not limited to, the following.
o Monitor budgets for assigned projects.
o Prepare detailed computer-generated cost reports, charts and diagrams.
o Provide analysis and review of cost/budget expenditures.
o Maintain cost control reports.
o Interpret project schedules in order to model cash flow forecasts.
o Promptly report anticipated cost overages or other unsatisfactory cost elements
o Update contract commitments, reconcile and analyze actual expenditures, perform budget transfers, monitor trend status and maintain continuity of WBS structure in PM Web.
o Maintain liaison with data processing in developing support for network calculations, printouts and cost reports, and other cost related services
o Perform cost-to-complete analysis for all cost elements within a project taking into consideration staffing plans, contract commitments, expenditures to date, change orders and trends.
o Attend project meeting to provide Project Management with current financial information and trend log regarding potential impacts to project budget or forecast.
o Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required. Develops creative reporting tools to communicate complex project sequencing and/or progress assessments.
o Review contractor and sub-consultant task orders to ensure necessary budget and/or contract capacity exists.
o Analyze change order values against current budget and prepare reconciliations to include in the current forecast at completion.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor Degree + 6 years of related experience in project controls (YORE) or AA/AS + 8 YORE or HS/GED + 10 YORE
Valid Driving license required
Preferred Qualifications
o Ideally 10+ years of related experience in cost planning/controls on engineering and/or construction projects are required, preferably airport related construction and/or renovation.
o Experience with Microsoft Office required, e.g. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
o Experience and understanding of cost engineering methodology, techniques and procedures.
o Experience with program management information systems such as PM Web.
o Demonstrated experience managing and reporting the cost components of large-scale, complex projects. Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Progressive Design Build, and Construction Management at Risk delivery methods is desirable.
o Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction program and the ability to communicate progress to both technical- and management-level personnel.
o Ability work with others, a self-starter with results-driven focus.
o Capability to assume additional responsibilities.
o Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment.
o Demonstrated success on the job, as evidenced by satisfactory performance, acceptance of responsibility and growth in previous position.
o Effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience.
