AECOM Engineering Technician (Electrical / Electronic) in San Diego, California

AECOM is actively seeking an Engineering Technician (Electrical / Electronic) to provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications. The position will be located at Naval Station and local Ship Repair Facilities in San Diego, CA.
Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at Company and client sites.
Assist with test and evaluation, checkout, certification tasks.
Perform validations/ verifications of various electronic systems.
Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
Direct on-site customer interface.
Position may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
Eight (8) years’ experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion hull, mechanical, electrical or electronic systems is highly desired, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams and technical data pertaining to the construction and operation of naval hull, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
An Associate Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two (2) years of technician experience.
Candidate shall demonstrate ability to:
Provide on the job training to technical personnel in operation, trouble shooting, maintenance and repair (including use of test equipment)
Position requires an active secret clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Desired: Two (2) years’ experience in a position of team leader or supervisor of subordinate work groups.
Service in Navy shipyards is preferred
