Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Client Account Manager - Environment for immediate employment for the San Diego, CA office. This position would be focused in the southern California region, serving the utility and government markets. The position will include external and internal facets including project/program management and business development/account management for select clients, plus Project Delivery partnership with AECOM’s Delivery Excellence team. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Serve as AECOMs primary point of contact with clients; continually considering how clients can best be served by AECOM and ensuring high-quality service is provided.

  • Understand AECOMs obligations on current client contracts.

  • Manage, support and/or lead project teams for environmental planning, environmental compliance, and/or natural resources and restoration projects.

  • Regularly meet with client staff from multiple levels of the client’s organization to obtain feedback on AECOMs performance and identify opportunities.

  • Monitor client satisfaction and addresses performance issues.

  • Prepare Client Account Plan and/or Capture Plans for key utility or government clients.

  • Be involved in the Go-No-Go decision making process; working with regional and national market sector leaders.

  • Ensure clients become a sustainable source of repeat business.

  • Develop marketing and client capture strategies.

  • Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers.

  • Identify upcoming environmental pursuits in the utility/government market that are consistent with AECOMs environmental business line and growth strategy.

  • Lead the proposal development process including Statement of Qualifications, Technical Proposals and Presentations.

  • Provide support to Project Managers (PMs) in developing detailed project plans in ePM

  • Assist in training of Deputy Project Managers on use of ePM and fundamentals of Estimate-At-Completion (EAC) and Earned Value (EV)

  • Assist pursuit teams with pricing models and the use of AECOM Bid Model (ABM)

  • Assist Regional Project Delivery Lead with reviews of projects and PM portfolios.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with at least 2 years of client account management experience

  • Proven track record with client account management, relationship development, brand elevation, project pursuit execution, and technical sales.

  • Experience in the full spectrum of client service, starting with positioning activities, proposal development, and delivery of project designs.

  • Must have knowledge and/or experience in environmental planning, environmental compliance, and natural resources projects.

  • Exceptional technical skills and experience delivering environmental projects.

  • Desire to serve and lead in a deliberate and focused, yet fast-paced team environment.

  • Excellent relationships and proven work experience with existing utility or energy clients as well as municipalities in southern California.

  • Familiarity and experience in Project Management and Contract Administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (environmental planning, biology, ecology, or project management/controls) preferred.

  • Familiarity with AECOM’s project management system ePM.
