Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Construction Managers / Inspectors for immediate employment who are willing to travel and have the flexibility to be available on a Part-Time Variable basis up to 40 hours per week when actively inspecting.
The successful candidates will support and participate in facility and infrastructure assessment programs.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Perform construction inspections throughout the United States.
Monitor and document conformance with quality, performance, safety and code requirements. Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.
Review and assess cost estimates.
Provide construction management support such as bid solicitation and reviewing submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Participate in formal quality audits.
Review quality related submittals for conformance with the plans and specifications.
Recommend issuance of non-conformance reports as needed.
Provide technical guidance regarding QC inspection and testing to field staff.
Work with field staff to verify non-conforming work is resolved in accordance with approved procedures.
Review acceptance requests for conformance with specified criteria.
Complete other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
HS Diploma + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and acceptable driving record.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Able to pass client background screenings when required by our contract - typically for working with federal clients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline preferred.
14 years or more experience as a Construction Inspector
Certified completion of a professionally accredited Quality Control Management Course (e.g., conducted by the US Army Corps of Engineers or an independent private company) within the last five (5) years.
Completed inspection training / certification from a recognized agency.
OSHA Training
Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as be able to work closely with and collaborate with a small team.
Reasonably thorough knowledge of construction practices and procedures.
Ability to travel across the United States as needed to work at assigned locations for at least a year with the ability to take approved leave of absences, preferably scheduled in advance.

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly rate for this position is $59.05-$62.00/hr.
