The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

  • Prepare engineering related calculations, designs, drawings and engineering specifications

  • Prepare plans and specifications in accordance with industry standards

  • Assist with field work (e.g., groundwater sampling and soil sampling, well installation and contractor oversight, logging soils and collecting samples

  • Prepare technical reports

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

  • Strong technical and business writing skills; strong communications skills

  • Commitment to personal safety and safety and health of team membersCommitment to producing quality work and work products in accordance with principles of quality management

  • Capable of using CAD, spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Experience in data presentation and analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of assignments and produce required outcomes and deliverables

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering or other related field required from an accredited four year college or university.

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental industry; experience on contaminated site investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design and/or remedial action oversight

  • Project experience working with private sector clients, state and local clients, and/or federal and DOD clients

  • Project experience working under CERCLA/SARA, RCRA, TSCA and state and local environmental laws

  • Understanding of laboratory analytical testing, sampling methods, and field measurements

  • Familiarity with common remedial technologies such as AS/SVE, in situ bio remediation, chemical injection, groundwater treatment (in situ and ex situ), etc.

  • Proficient with MS Office Products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)

  • 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operator and current 8-hour refresher certification preferred

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Surfer)

  • Previous business development / client relations experience

  • Previous experience in preparing proposals

Additional Information:

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

  • Per diem support is not available for this position.

  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
