Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Construction Field Engineer - Security/Public Address Systems to be based in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position is expected to begin in April, 2022.

Minimum Requirements

The Field Engineer - Security/Public Address Systems position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology + 6 years of related experience or related discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, certification, training, skills, knowledge, abilities and aviation experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive U.S. aviation Systems design and construction experience with capital projects of $200 million or greater in value. The candidate must have installation experience for all major systems components. The Field Engineer - Security/Public Address Systems candidate must be familiar with a wide range of project delivery methods (for example design-bid-build, design-build, and construction manager at risk). The candidate must have experience reviewing construction change requests and possess good written communication skills. The Field Engineer - Security/Public Address Systems must be experienced in interpreting and reviewing the Systems contract documents including but not limited to schematic design (SD-30% documents), design development documents (DD-60% documents), construction documents (CD-100% documents), bid and award, conformed documents, requests for information (RFI), change orders, submittals, bulletins, as built drawings and close out documentation. The candidate will be responsible for coordination of Systems with other disciplines such as heating, ventilation, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection. The candidate must have experience with and understanding of Airport Systems with primary focus on Security and Public Address Systems. The candidate should have experience with deployment of CASS, utilization of door hardware to deploy security door types, integration of security doors into the Airport-Wide CASS, CBP security requirements, TSA security requirements and local law enforcement requirements. Experience with Honeywell Prowatch System, Intrusion Detection Systems, duress alarms and formal testing methodologies is a plus. The candidate should also have experience with deployment of VSS, placement and pointing CCTV for required coverage, placement based on lighting conditions, PTZ and fixed cameras, mounting provisions, POE cameras, CAT 6A F/UTP, fiber optic cables/media converters, alarm integration and microphone integration. Experience with Pelco Camera Systems and formal testing methodologies is a plus. The candidate should also have experience with deployment of PAS, speakers, amplifier and amplifier chassis, 1/0 interfaces, microphone stations, integration with Fire Alarm System for muting PAS, integration with the Baggage Handling System for coordination of baggage claim messages and integration with FIDS for visual paging. Experience with AtlaslED GlobalCom, zone distribution, testing, commissioning and system tuning is a plus. The candidate will support the integration of the new facilities equipment with the existing headend systems, support commissioning of Security/PA Systems in the new ARP facilities and support the Phasing and Migration of Security/PA Systems during the phased demolition of existing facilities. Extensive field engineering experience is required to verify installation conformance with plans and specifications, participate in certification testing and commissioning, be able to assist with field decisions and help resolve construction conflicts on all Airport Redevelopment Program projects. Experience with and understanding of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rules and guidelines is preferred. Candidates must have a successful track record in conflict resolution; have a positive attitude and a propensity for collaborative teamwork.
