Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager specializing in Office of the State Fire Marshall (OFSM) work for immediate employment in Rancho Cordova, CA. This position is contingent upon approval of California Deparment of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). This position is temporary, expecting to last 3-4 months. Responsibilities include:

  • Technical skills to effectively manage new, replacement, and renovation Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) projects, while delivering excellent customer service to the user groups, staff, and client leadership

  • Manage the implementation and coordination of all OSFM information

  • Responsible for leading a team to prepare and implement detailed plans for all OSFM corrective action work

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience, including project management for multiple construction, engineering, and/or architecture projects; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience with OSFM and multiple buildings

  • Education preferred in Fire Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to continuously improve technical skills and quality

  • Available for work/travel outside normal office hours & inter-departments, as required

  • Ability to work well under pressure with an organized approach to managing tasks, time and workload

  • Display strong attention to detail with the ability to research & review documents and draw conclusions to support recommendations

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SharePoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate efficiently with staff members, client, field crews, and customers

  • Ability and willingness to work in a correctional facility environment

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience in dealing with OSFM for previous correctional facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years' experience preferred
