AECOM Safety, Health & Environment Site Officer in Sacramento, California

AECOM is looking for a motivated individual to provide dedicated onsite Safety, Health, and Environmental support and leadership for a complex Oil and Gas remediation/demolition/restoration projects in California.
Ensures the company’s safety, health, and environment (SH&E) policy and procedural arrangements are complied with and enforced.
Assists with hazard assessments and mitigation planning, assesses occupational safety training needs and provides/coordinates training where needed, supports compliance with AECOM policy and procedures, OSHA, DOT, EPA and other applicable SH&E regulations, assesses subcontractor SH&E performance and qualifications, project SH&E auditing, supports requests for proposals, provides SH&E oversight, implements behavioral safety programs, practices incident prevention through design.
Supports the development of policy and procedure in accordance the AECOM America’s SH&E Program, develops SH&E communications, implements recognition and reward programs, and reports on AECOM SH&E performance.
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.
May have budgeting responsibilities.
Maintains self-knowledge of SH&E, keeps up to date with local legislation and company procedures.
Prepares, organizes and participates in site safety training programs.
Maintains close liaison with the Client’s and Contractor’s Safety Personnel.
Attends and leads regular safety meetings.
Checks safety requirements in method statements and permit to work procedures submitted by contractors.
Completes regular site safety inspections and ensure items requiring action are closed out to an acceptable standard.
Checks that all required safety standards and applicable safety regulations are observed.
Checks proper inspection, maintenance, calibration, and operation of all safety equipment.
Checks site security, fire, first aid, welfare facilities and procedures appropriate to the works are provided and properly maintained.
Investigates all incidents and near misses and reports in accordance with the Client requirements and as per the AECOM America’s SH&E Program.

BA/BS & 6+ years of relevant experience OR an AA/AS (US) & 8+ years of relevant experience OR HS/GED & 10+ years of relevant experience
Must be willing to be onsite at Client location on daily basis
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizen is required.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in indoor and outdoor environments with uneven terrain.
Position will include conducting field work and wearing associated personal protective equipment, including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, and hearing protection.
8+ years in site safety management roles within Oil and Gas industry
Experience as Client representative in and SHE role
Experience supporting multiple activities/projects and on working with SHE regulatory agencies and Corporate support functions.
CSP or CIH certification is desired
