The Geotechnical Engineering group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, motivated, talented Geotechnical Engineer for immediate employment in the Sacramento, California office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge of geology and how this applies to geotechnical theory and analysis procedures and will learn how these can impact the design and construction of large projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

Planning, implementing and leading geotechnical projects including field investigation programs
Soil and rock logging of geotechnical explorations
Guiding staff engineers in performing material characterization, conducting seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses, and performing foundation and retaining wall design
Preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications
Supporting project manager in budget management, client updates, and general project management tasks
Preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boards
Conducting field observations and site visits
Assisting project managers with geotechnical proposals
Ability to perform engineering calculations, data modeling and design
Bachelor's of Science in Geology, Civil Engineering or related
5+ years of experience working on civil engineering infrastructure projects, with specific experience in GIS applications to geology and geotechnical engineering, including field exploration, borehole logging, field mapping, interpretation of subsurface data, development of geologic models and report generation
Professional Geologist/PE registration
Valid driver's license required
Masters in Geology/Geo-Sciences/Geotechnical Engineering
Knowledge of industry standard computer software related to geology and geotechnical engineering, such as: Excel, Word, gINT, GeoStudio, UTexas4, and AutoCAD and/or Civil3D.
