Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroad, bridge and highway in Connecticut. Come join our team on these exciting projects!

  • Responsible for performing assignments in construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.

  • Relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Responsible for setting own project deadlines.

  • Provides on the job training to new employees.

  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.

  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.

  • Tracks quality assurance progress.

  • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid U.S. Driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)

  • Experience supervising / managing less experienced inspectors.

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work.

  • BS Civil Engineering or related curriculum.

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification, Engineer In Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • NICET certification (or ability to obtain required level).

  • Offered rate of compensation in Connecticut will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $33.77 - $62.45.
