AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated Engineer IV, Civil Engineering for immediate employment in the Roanoke, VA office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides technical support for a variety of site design related projects, including grading, drainage, pipeline and collection stormwater facility design, airport design, planning, and construction administration.
Coordinates multi-discipline design efforts
Supports project managers in execution of all types of site design projects
Supports client-related activities, including marketing and proposal development
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related engineering field
6 years of experience in site planning and design, including project analysis, feasibility and budgeting required
Registration as a Professional Engineer
Technical proficiency in civil engineering design and analysis, including site design, grading and drainage design, water line and sewer design, stormwater permitting and design, and erosion and sediment control
Proficient with CAD and design software (Civil 3D, Bentley Design Suites, Water CAD, Sewer CAD, ARC GIS, etc)
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Must possess a valid driver’s license
International travel may be required
Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Virginia, or able to obtain same in six months
Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
Proactive on assignments and demonstrate initiative
Must work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines
Hydraulic modeling experience
Experience working for local and/or federal agencies
