Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking to add a graduate level fire protection engineer for our Roanoke, VA office. Our business focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in the engineering design, code consultation and construction phase services for wide variety of clients both in the private sector and public sector. We execute large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services.
The fire protection engineer will work closely with other engineers, executing tasks assigned by the department manager including developing fire suppression designs, fire alarm designs, mass notification system designs and performing life safety code analysis work. A qualified candidate would include:
Performed performance-based design of fire suppression and fire alarm/mass notification systems
Conducted life safety code analysis and egress analysis
Experience with MSWord, Outlook and similar Microsoft suite of products
Positive attitude
Great communicator
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering and /or Fire Protection Engineering
Experience with use of REVIT and AutoCAD preferred
Additional Information
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of fire protection engineering program from an ABET accredited university.
Must be open to learning multiple disciplines.
