This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. The EL Mechanical Engineer-HVAC will perform the following duties:

  • Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents

  • Work within a project team environment

  • Maintain and organize all project related documentation

  • Coordinate work with other project disciplines

  • Ability to interact and communicate with other team members and disciplines

  • Work independently with Project LEAD supervision and make technical decisions based on company, client and industry standard practices

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program

  • 0-2 years of experience with an architectural/engineering firm providing mechanical/plumbing drafting services, including 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) for commercial and institutional facilities

  • A valid driver's license is required

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

  • Ability to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) registration

  • Experience with BIM (Revit or AECOsim) software

  • Secret or Top Secret DoD clearance

  • Working knowledge of Mechanical systems analysis tools (TRANE Trace or Equivalent Load Program, Various Selection Programs, Etc.)

  • Direct experience in Department of Defense, Health Care, and Government facilities

  • Experience working on projects that were executed using REVIT or a similar 3D BIM Product

  • Proficient in the use of computers for developing engineering drawings

  • Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively
