Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, cost estimates, detailed analyses and other materials suitable for procurement and building construction purposes
Develop electrical power and distribution design concepts with architects, engineers and owners
Design of lighting, fire alarm, communications systems in buildings
Project Management on electrical projects
Prepare specifications, contract documents, and prepare engineering progress reports
Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards
Travel to construction sites to conduct electrical inspections
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or a related field and 2+ years of experience in buildings and facilities engineering with specific experience in the design of lighting design and power distribution or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the design of modifications to low voltage (480 V and below) electrical power systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities including office tenant space, utilities and support facilities - This includes preparation of electrical system load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, etc.
Experience with the design of lighting and lighting control systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities in accordance with energy code requirements (ASHRE 90.1) including familiarity with lighting calculations, occupancy control, and application of state of the art materials to projects
Familiarity with the National Electric Code
AutoCAD/Revit and/or MicroStation experience, including experience with BIM (Revit or AECOsim) software as well as experience working on projects that were executed using Revit or a similar 3D BIM Product
Displayed ability to execute complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments on time and within budget
Understands overall project constraints including design budget limitations and schedule requirements
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) registration
Secret or Top Secret DoD clearance or the ability to obtain it
Working knowledge of Electrical system analysis tools (E-TAP or SKM)
Direct experience in Department of Defense, Health Care, and Government facilities
