Water

With more than 3,200 Water professionals in all major markets throughout the United States and Canada, AECOM’s Water business line leverages nearly a century of local, national and international project experience to provide today’s municipalities, industries and governments with cost-effective solutions to their Water challenges. We deliver our services—from environmental planning studies to detailed design, construction management, and operations and maintenance—to a wide range of public and private sector clients. Our public sector work encompasses everything from small rural communities, to large urban centers, to agencies with regional responsibilities. Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer II, Civil Engineering for immediate employment in the Roanoke, VA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides technical design for a variety of water/wastewater design related projects, including water/wastewater treatment plants, water/wastewater pump stations, water line design, sanitary sewer collection system design and rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.

  • Supports project managers in execution of all types of water/wastewater related design projects.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specifications.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related engineering field.

  • 2+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering and design

  • Experience in civil engineering design and analysis, including GIS development and maintenance

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT)

  • Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor

  • Proactive on assignments and demonstrates initiative

  • Proficient with GIS, CAD, and design software (ArcGIS, Autodesk Civil3D, Bentley Design Suites, Revit, etc.)

  • Must work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Hydraulic modeling experience
