AECOM Commercial Director, Medina Region in Riyadh, United States

Job Summary

AECOM are currently seeking a Commercial Director, to be based in the Medina region on a large scale historical program. The role will work in partnership with AECOM's Global Program Management business, which provides the structure, tools, techniques and process to deliver on this vision.

By connecting our expertise across services, markets, and geographies, we manage outcome-driven programs that deliver social, economic and environmental value. These include programs of critical national importance in defense, transport, water, clean energy, environmental clean-up, international development and disaster recovery, as well as the shaping of many of the world’s major cities.

The Commercial Director is a key member of the Program Management Team and is the primary link between the client and the project delivery teams in all commercial matters. The Commercial Director carries the overarching responsibility of managing the commercial aspects of the client’s consultant and construction contracts, including advising the client on commercial and cost issues, administration of the contracts, agreeing on processes and procedures with key suppliers and the management of the Commercial Management Team.


  • Provide high level commercial direction and support to the project delivery team

  • Actively manage commercial risk by working closely with the Owner’s Commercial Managers to enhance processes and procedures

  • Represent the Owner to external entities and establish commercial relationships while assuring compliance with contract conditions and relevant standards

  • Communicate with contractors and suppliers on outstanding issues.

  • Maintains consistency among the project teams’ commercial management and delivery processes and ensures the client’s expectations and requirements are integrated into the program’s commercial processes.

  • Oversees the project commercial teams to ensure the overall commercial program is managed in a professional, legal and ethical manner and that it maintains the highest level of quality.

  • Develops and implements commercial audit processes and ensures commercial performance continuously exceeds established benchmarks.

  • Provides detailed recommendations to the program leadership team and the client by preparing budgets, forecasts, comprehensive financial analysis and other commercial data studies as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 15 years experience in contract negotiation with an in-depth understanding of project management functions as they relate to the proper planning and execution of contracts on construction projects. Experience on major programs is essential.

Please note: This role is based in a remote location.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying is required, or a related subject, with MRIC accreditation.
