AECOM Cost Estimating Engineer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Summary

The Estimator reports to the Estimating Section Lead with following responsibilities:

  • Analyze and research data, select metrics to produce valid estimates, ensure that all quantity surveys and pricing are accurate and complete.

  • Review project deliverables including design packages, project drawings, specifications, and other deliverables and prepare mechanical and electrical part of the project capital and operation cost estimates.

  • Evaluate changes, update estimates as per the design changes and track and maintain all estimates for further analysis.

  • Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates, review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.

  • Reviews project documents and understand scope of work to estimate, execute take-offs of construction documents, input take-offs into computer spreadsheet.

  • Obtain pricing for materials, equipment, subcontracts etc. make an estimate where predetermined standard(s) are not available.

  • Prepare cost analysis by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs.

  • Inform senior estimator of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.

  • Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, sub-contractors, government requirements, etc.

  • Attends departmental meetings as required, acquire understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand, selecting metrics to produce valid estimates.

  • Visit sites and other venues to gather essential information, review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data.

  • Analyze data and produce forecasts, prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties

  • Select advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes, foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.)

  • Perform or coordinate quantity development and verification for a discipline or specialty. Develop, or assist in the development of quantity bases for assumption.

Minimum Requirements

  • 13+ years of relevant experience, in addition, experience in CSA estimating will be advantageous

  • Candidate should be in Saudi Arabia with transferable iqama

  • knowledge of all trades: scope, time frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures

  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge about estimating processes and delivery methods

Additional Comments :

  • Fluent or good written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
