Position Title Shift Engineer

AECOM is seeking an Mechanical Engineer for the Bluegrass Chemical Agent Destruction Pilot Plant project located in Richmond, Kentucky.
Typical Responsibilities Include:
Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work.
Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.
Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility.
Performs a range of design development, analysis, or review tasks independently.
Responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews.
Generate complete design specifications for the most complex projects.
May provide training to less experienced engineers on technical issues related to the research, design, development, testing and analysis of engineering assignments.
Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
Conduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.
Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
May organize and supervise a group of employees for a given project, contract or job with overall responsibility for cost, schedule, technical and employee performance.

BGCAPP is subject to Army Regulations (AR50-6 Chemical Surety Program and AR190-59 Unescorted Access Program) with govern persons performing work under the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and unescorted Access Program (UAP). Eligibility to be placed in a CPRP or UAP position requires US citizenship. Employees must favorably complete a series of screenings to include but not limited to: a National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) security investigation, drug/alcohol testing and medical examination.
All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment. Respiratory screening and the ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required for this position. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the Blue Grass Army Depot is required.
Bachelor degree in engineering or related field and 10 years’ mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience in an operating demilitarization, chemical, power, processing, industrial, or manufacturing plant
Associate degree in engineering or related field and 14 years’ mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience in an operating demilitarization, chemical, power, processing, industrial, or manufacturing plant
- High school diploma or equivalent and 18 years’ mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience in an operating demilitarization, chemical, power, processing, industrial, or manufacturing plant
Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) site access
Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment
Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any depot or BGCAPP drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement
Must have thorough understanding of electrical equipment operation, and electrical equipment maintenance requirements and restrictions imposed by safety and environmental regulations
Demonstrate competency in analog and digital process control loop and instrument maintenance repair and troubleshooting
Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
Experience working in chemical demilitarization, nuclear, chemical, or toxic/hazardous environment
Experience in heavy industrial work environment
Professional Engineer certification
