Job Summary

SUMMARY:

Reports to a Training Supervisor and is responsible for execution activities for Plant Operations training development and maintenance using the SAT and ADDIE processes with knowledge of Learning VISION database. Assists in development, implementation and delivery of plant systems training i.e. steam, electrical, pumps and valves etc.

Performs work in accordance with Plant Operations and other applicable project procedures in accordance with policies and all applicable laws, regulations, Contract, Authorization Basis, and technical requirements.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control and supervision of WTCC.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

  • Administer facility training and procedures process activities including:

  • Correcting and maintaining Commissioning and Operations Procedures and Training material in the VISION database.

  • Revising training and procedures - review and incorporate revisions due to program changes, procedure changes, design changes, lessons learned, operating experience

  • Revise training courses for operations, maintenance, laboratory technicians, radiological technicians, and technical support personnel as assigned

  • Assist in the delivery of training materials as assigned

Bechtel is designing, constructing and commissioning the world’s largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington state. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities – Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory – as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.

The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and AECOM. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, Monday-Thursday 6:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree preferably with courses in education or training that focus on instructional analysis, design, development, delivery and testing as well as evaluation of training programs with an emphasis in e-Learning training development and 7 years technical plant operations experience including technical training implementation experience. Preferred candidates will have experience in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, Department of Defense, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.

Or

Associates degree preferably with courses in education or training that focus on instructional analysis, design, development, delivery and testing as well as evaluation of training programs with an emphasis in e-Learning training development and 8 years technical plant operations experience including technical training implementation experience. Preferred candidates will have experience in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, Department of Defense, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.

Or

High School Diploma preferably with courses in education or training that focus on instructional analysis, design, development, delivery and testing as well as evaluation of training programs with an emphasis in e-Learning training development and 9 years technical plant operations experience including technical training implementation experience. Preferred candidates will have experience in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, Department of Defense, or Commercial Nuclear Operations.
