Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a

Fire Protection Engineer 1 . Location to be one of the following: Aiken, SC or Oak Ridge, TN or Richland, WA office.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis, development or review tasks in specific areas under close supervision.

  • Design a portion or section of an analysis or design review.

  • Assist in generation of specifications and engineering data.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence. .

  • Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.

  • Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.

  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have obtained a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering from a 4 year accredited college or university.

  • Early career, zero (0) or more years of job-related experience or equivalent.

  • Must be capable of applying Protection Engineering principles to problems ranging from simple code consulting to unique and complex technical problems.

  • Familiar with NFPA codes and standards, evaluation of fire protection programs and facilities.

  • Acquainted with development and implementation of fire protection programs, fire protection systems support including minor design modifications or recommendations.

  • Able to provide Fire Protection engineering project support ranging from small focused scope to large, multimillion dollar one of a kind projects.

  • Knowledgeable in computer modeling of fire, egress or other fire related or influenced phenomena.

  • Candidate must be eligible to obtain a DOE Q clearance and access to Commercial Nuclear Facilities.

  • Candidate must be able to travel on business as needed.

  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Fire Protection.

  • Familiar with preparation of written fire protection analyses.
