AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Software Manager for immediate employment in the Raleigh, NC office. The successful candidate will provide direction to employees according to established policies, procedures and management guidance. Administers company policies that affect subordinates. Recommends changes to policies. Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives. Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires review of relevant factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action. Provides direct supervision to exempt and/or non-exempt employees. In addition, the manager supervises a group of computer analysts, programmers, developers, and/or administrators, coordinating activities of the unit.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Creates and oversees schedules, to ensure timely deliveries
Assigns tasks to developers and testers in a shared project management software
Recommends new software management technologies
Forecasts the need for additional personnel to meet schedules
High-level architecture meetings to layout new applications for junior staff
Ensures quality control via code reviews and pre-release demonstrations
Reviews technical documentation, to ensure that it accurately and thoroughly depicts the application design and code life-cycle
Assists with the estimation process and develop Technical Proposals for new projects
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
10+ years of web or desktop programming experience including 5+ years of full-time management experience
Working knowledge of MS Project and/or project management software
Experience with Source Control such as TFS
Should have an excellent understanding of object-oriented programming and relational database concepts
Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues and problems, identifying different design alternatives
Highly autonomous, self-starter with experience in the full SDLC process
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred
Knowledge of GIS
