Job Description
AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Software Manager in our Raleigh, NC office. This an exciting opportunity to join our Water Flood Planning and Risk Solutions team. Please note that this position can be Hybrid/Remote work arrangement.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical and operational direction to employees according to established policies, procedures, and management guidance.
Administer and where appropriate recommend changes to policies, procedures and processes.
Perform oversight, analytics and management of work to ensure project objectives are being met.
exercises judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action
provide direct supervision to exempt and/or non-exempt employees.
supervise a group of information technology professionals, coordinating activities of the unit.
Create and oversee schedules, to ensure timely deliveries.
Assign tasks to developers and testers in a shared project management software.
Recommend new software management technologies.
Forecast the need for additional personnel to meet schedules.
High-level architecture meetings to layout new applications to staff.
Ensure quality control via analysis of QA efforts, code reviews and pre-release demonstrations.
Review technical documentation, to ensure that it accurately and thoroughly depicts the software development life cycle. Assist with the estimation process and develop Technical Proposals for new projects.
Work closely with Project Managers and Clients to deliver successful projects given limited budgets and changing requirements.
Reports to the Vice President/Director.
Qualifications
.Minimum Requirements:
BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
At least 10 years of web, desktop programming or related experience. At least 10 years of full-time management experience.
Experience with Scrum and Kanban.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
Working knowledge of GIS principles.
Working knowledge of MS Project and/or project management software.
Mid-level knowledge of C# or Python, SQL Server 2012 or newer, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
Experience with cloud-based systems and AWS technologies, such as EC2, S3, Lambda.
Experience with Source Control such as TFS or Git.
Should have an excellent understanding of object-oriented programming and relational database concepts.
Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues and problems, identifying different design alternatives. Highly autonomous, self-starter with experience in the full software development life cycle.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with ESRI GIS products, such as ArcGIS Pro.
Experience with NIST 800-53.
Hardware architecture experience with building a scalable system of web, database and GIS servers.
