Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Roadway/Transportation Project Manager based in Raleigh, North Carolina . The successful candidate will interact with key internal and external clients to deliver projects and expand AECOM’s customer base.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Manage multi-disciplined transportation projects from scoping through delivery.

  • Use Microsoft Project to maintain project schedules.

  • Supervise and/or coordinate the work of junior and mid-level staff, providing constructive guidance and mentorship.

  • Lead public meetings, agency coordination, and client interface efforts.

  • Participate in business development activities, including but not limited to managing preparation of letters of interest, qualifications statements, proposals, and interview materials.

  • Ensure compliance with all AECOM and project-specific Quality Management System procedures

  • Track and manage budgets using Oracle and Excel based tools.

  • Demonstrate leadership and communications skills required for successful client interaction.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with (6) years minimum roadway design and project management experience or AS Degree with (8) years of experience.

  • Experience in managing the schedule, budget, and technical quality of large task orders or components of roadway projects.

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten (10) years of experience in developing roadway/highway plans.

  • Knowledge of NCDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation.

  • Experience with local municipalities, DOT's and approving agencies.

  • NC PE or ability to obtain through reciprocity in 3 months.

  • Experience managing a small group (3-4) of roadway designers and entry level engineers.

  • Excellent client management abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor staff.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule.
