AECOM Entry Level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to be based in Raleigh, NC.

This position is expected to begin in January 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing the planning and design documents for civil and environmental engineering projects under supervision of a professional engineer, project manager or senior-level team member using engineering design software and equipment

  • Effectively using reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects

  • Coordinates and performs field inspection services, as needed

  • Writes and/or reviews draft reports, including erosion and sediment control narratives, stormwater management reports, and technical specifications

  • Travel (approximately 50%) as needed for field assignments conducting dam inspections, overseeing geotechnical investigations and drilling subcontractors, and construction quality assurance (CQA) oversight of construction activities as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Stormwater design capabilities including knowledge of HydroCAD or other TR-55 based software platforms

  • Ability to perform field work without restrictions
