Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Project Manager for Remediation Construction projects with a focus on firm-fixed-price contracting. The Project manager will lead remediation projects across multiple AECOM subject matter experts and disciplines. This position can be based from a number of AECOM office locations, or based remotely within the United States, but applicant must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
The AECOM Project Manager is responsible for managing a project to achieve specified objectives. Involves the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion to produce a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality. Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.
Responsibilities of this position, which may vary slightly, include the following:
Collaborates with project teams and management in the development of strategies and plans.
Providing overall management and administration to projects and assisting in establishing project-specific objectives and policies
Support and manage construction/delivery for environmental remediation projects.
Provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforce company and project policies, maintain close client interface, and ensure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
This position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction projects.
Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
May supervise senior-level engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating, and procurement representatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS +6years of direct Project Management experience directly related to remediation construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive.
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
Ability to travel nationwide - up to approximately 25% of the time.
Preferred Requirements
12 years of environmental project experience, including managing projects firm-fixed-price remedial construction projects through implementation and closure.
Demonstrated experience in firm-fixed-priced remedial construction projects.
Experience in managing environmental remediation projects $10 million or greater - including excavation/removal, impoundment/landfill closure, large-scale groundwater treatment system installation, and D4.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
