AECOM Senior Transportation Engineer/Project Manager in Portland, Oregon

Job Responsibilities

Qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in highway, roadway and/or Bus Rapid Transit engineering design experience with local agencies, bureaus, and departments in Oregon and/or Southwest Washington.

This is an opportunity to join our existing Transit Engineering practice and serve as the local lead for Bus Rapid Transit business development and engineering projects. You will work with, and be supported by, a diverse national team of engineers and other transit professionals.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Manager in the Portland, Oregon office is a key position and will report into the US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Group

  • The position includes responsibility for business development, management of transportation planning studies, preliminary design studies and final design of linear transit infrastructure projects throughout the western United States

  • Clients include TriMet, MetroTransit, UTA, CapMETRO, DART, RTD, Valley Metro, LA Metro, BART and more

  • The successful candidate may be asked to serve as an AECOM team and/or discipline lead, project manager and/or technical task leader on selected projects and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others in the AECOM US West Region

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • In possession of a Professional Engineer’s License with eligibility for comity in Oregon and Washington

  • Experience on engineering design projects for ODOT, WSDOT, TriMet, and/or C-TRAN

  • Experience designing transit and transportation infrastructure

  • Experience with design software including InRoads, Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads

  • Familiar with MS Office is required

  • Experience with business development and client relations

  • Able to work out of our Portland, Oregon office
