Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Planner for immediate employment for the Portland, OR office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Analyze environmental impacts from project activities and develop written descriptions of impacts for environmental documents, with specific focus on federal, state, and local land use.

  • Assist on a variety of environmental studies for federal land use planning and infrastructure projects including power, water, transportation, and development-related projects in the Pacific Northwest

  • Support environmental planning practice on proposals by researching requirements and assessing efforts required for permitting

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Urban Planning or related field

  • 5+ years' experience successfully supporting environmental impact analysis documents and associated technical studies

  • Experience supporting larger teams in the preparation environmental documents

  • Understanding of the environmental regulatory framework for the Pacific Northwest, including applicable state and federal laws

  • Strong research and analytical abilities

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the editing, oversight or preparation of technical reports

  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously, working efficiently and with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in preparing technical analyses for environmental documents such as that required for NEPA, CEQA, SEPA or state-specific energy facility siting.

  • Experience interacting with state and local regulatory agency representatives in the Pacific Northwest
