AECOM is actively seeking a mid-level geologist for employment to be a task leader for a variety of Department of Defense environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) for the Federal sector in the Portland, OR area. The successful candidate will have a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects.

About DCSA Environment

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Candidate will be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Conduct environmental investigation, cleanup, and permitting projects
Perform geologic and hydrogeologic studies
Perform Task Management duties including managing technical work, budgets, proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and health & safety.
Prepare technical work plans and reports
Conduct and direct staff in the execution of tasks
Provide QA/QC support
Knowledge of OR/WA state regulations
Provide client interface as required.
Provide technical expertise support
Prepare data analysis and presentation for technical meetings with the client and regulators. Inclusive of complex hydrogeological analysis, conceptual site model, risk assessment, and contaminant analysis.
Strong technical report writing skills
Behavior-base safety conscious
Ability to supervise personnel to execute both field/in-office task
- BA/BS + 6 years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in a relevant technical discipline, including but not limited to geology, hydrogeology, or environmental science.
15+ years of experience as an environmental consultant, industry representative, or regulator versed in contaminated site investigation, remediation, and allocation.
Washington and Oregon geologist registration
Strong team worker, flexible and hard working
Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work
Ability to multitask
Strong communication skills at all levels
Organized and able to work within a team of technical experts
