Position Title Environmental Field Technician IV

Reporting in to the Environment Business Line of AECOM, this challenging hands-on role is ideal for a creative problem solver, interested in applying their experience and education to a broadly diverse environmental role. With a primary focus on groundwater monitoring and remediation, this position will also troubleshoot groundwater remediation systems, assist with groundwater investigations and coordinate various environmental projects involving regulatory compliance, construction, demolition or excavation in a historic refinery with a large geographic footprint. A long-term contract, this position offers the potential for stability and local opportunities for advancement.
Coordinate with project team, including Project Manager, client, sub-contractors, field staff and co-workers around sampling, data collection, and field documentation.
Implement field sampling programs for impacted soil, vapor, and water (ground and aquifer).
Document, compile and report on collected field data in support of regulatory compliance.
Maintain, and troubleshoot groundwater recovery treatment systems
Manage equipment inventory and perform a large variety of operational, administrative and project tasks related to ensuring a successful environmental monitoring and remediation program.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
7+ years of related work experience
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Must pass preliminary and subsequent random drug screens related to client and or site specific drug testing requirements
Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Candidate must be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination.
Selected candidate will have completed 40 hour HAZWOPER training or annual refresher class.
Demonstrated behaviors to ensure success; ability to work independently, strong work ethic, team-orientation, attention-to-detail, ability to follow protocols, and communication skills (verbal and written).
Working knowledge of computers.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dryness, moisture, noise, dust and chemicals; position requires frequent standing/walking; often lifting of less than 25 pounds, operating vehicles, and performing keyboard/mouse operations; occasional lifting of 25-50 pounds, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), repetitive or fine hand movements and work alone in isolated/remote areas; and rare work with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending & stooping, climbing stairs, using portable ladders (weight must be 300 lbs or less), operation of heavy, moving or dangerous equipment, and work in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection.
First Aid/CPR training is preferred
Experience or knowledge of environmental regulations including CERCLA, RCRA, and state/local regulatory agency requirements
Experience in Refinery settings
