Job Summary

AECOM are currently seeking Project Surveyor. As a Project Surveyor and or Project Manager you will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value driven service for large, high profile and exciting key commercial, corporate and residential clients.

Job Duties:

  • Experience with Feasibility estimates, cost planning (presenting with no supervision), contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering and commercial awareness, fee generation, dispute resolution, post contract management (competent in cost reporting).

  • Drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process.

  • Work on projects of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors and appropriate problem solving.

  • Manage projects effectively using appropriate management systems/protocols.

  • Be aware of and develop marketing opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department, in order that they may assist in following up potential leads enabling the development of new business.

  • Act as Project Manager or Employers Agent as the project lead in a client facing role

Specific Skills Required:

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are key.

  • Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes.

  • Understands and can demonstrate the importance of Client focus.

  • Good understanding of project Governance and procurement processes.

  • High level of numeracy

  • Ability to compile or oversee Cost reports from feasibility through to project completion

  • Eligible for MOD security clearance

  • Good Understanding of contracts especially NEC3 but also JCT, etc

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience of working in another comparable consultancy.

  • Experience of acting as lead Project Manager/Employers Agent.

  • Strong experience of delivering technically complex projects from inception to completion.

  • Desirable experience of Cost Measurement software

  • Experience of a variety of project types / sizes / sectors

  • Civils or Infrastructure Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical qualification and hold Chartered status or be within 12 months of final submission.
