AECOM's Plymouth office has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join an established civil engineering team. With an exciting existing workload to be met, the opportunity exists to come into a talented team and lend technical leadership to fuel further success in a vibrant market that offers highway projects alongside regeneration and multi-disciplinary schemes.
As a Principal Engineer you will undertake the design and project management on various civil infrastructure related projects and assist in developing the Company’s business.
This role will provide technical design leadership to ensure projects are delivered to programme quality and budget. You will also need to develop internal team relationships and provide support to junior staff in order to develop their individual skills and to encourage their personal development.
Key to this role is the ability to provide a client focused service which results in on-going satisfaction and repeat business
Being senior technical resource and may serve as technical advisor for team
Providing specialised technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
Developing study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
Developing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
Participating in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
Using expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
Performing quality control review of design calculations or drawings
Preparing technical specification sections
Providing input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements

MEng / BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering
Highway/pavement design skills including a working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Manual for Streets and Local Authority Design Guides for Highways in Residential and Commercial Estates
Drainage design skills including a working knowledge of Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations Part H and the SUDS Manual
Incorporated / Chartered Engineer status
Previous experience at a Senior/Principal level in a UK highway and drainage design for Consulting Engineer or a Local/Highway Authority
Sound and proven Civils 3D, PDS or MOSS/MX
Sound knowledge of construction contracts and commercial awareness
Knowledge of CDM regulations and duties
Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) preferred.
Sound and proven ability in WINDES
Site supervision experience of civil engineering projects
