As a member of the corporate team, you will work with professionals at our headquarters in downtown Los Angeles, California and in business offices around the world to advance AECOM’s global strategies and priorities. With positions around the globe, the Corporate team includes finance, legal, human resources, information technology, marketing and communications, and real estate functions
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Office workload balance, staff development, and mentoring. Providing periodic progress reports, and input on staffing decisions with Project Managers to maintain department utilization targets while meeting project design needs
QA/QC of structural designs and project submittals. Including but not limited to checking and verification of department work, independent technical peer reviews, constructability reviews and interdisciplinary reviews
Support business development activities including preparation of technical approach write ups, staffing plans, identification of potential clients and business opportunities, and meeting with clients
Managing projects, client needs, and project schedules
Work with PMs for developing project work plans and design task protocols
Tracking and managing the financial performance for assignments, as well as invoicing and cash collections
Plan and direct certain aspects of the Structural Department as determined by the Area Structural Manager
Provide technical, professional, and mentoring guidance for department staff
Support, oversee and coordinate structural staff in technical production activities and in the development of designs
Performance evaluations of department staff
Support project delivery requirements, show foresight, and work with multi-disciplinary teams to meet project goals and deliver technical excellence
Exercises sound judgment in anticipating both routine and unusual operational problems, identifying potential solutions, and presenting these recommendation to Management
Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative
Support Area and Region for delivering Business and Department goals
BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering+ 8 Years or relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience with bridge ratings and inspection, new and rehabilitation design and analysis, and developing supporting construction documents for transportation structural projects
Strong technical skills related to analysis, planning, design, and detailing, of structural projects
Experience in collaborating and coordinating with civil, traffic, and other disciplines
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
15+ years of experience in Transportation Structural Design
Master’s Degree in Structural engineering a plus
Significant Experience with PennDOT (especially Districts 1-0, 2-0, 9-0, 10-0,11-0 and 12-0), Pennsylvania Turnpike required, WVDOH and other Regional State DOT’s and clients a plus
Experience with Design Bid Build procurement, Design-Build, and other Alternate Delivery methods a plus.
Licensed Professional Structural Engineer in PA, WV and other surrounding states a plus
