AECOM is seeking a client-facing Construction Management Group Lead to focus on building our services in the Construction Management Sector in Pennsylvania for Water/Wastewater projects.

This practice leadership role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity to focus on a mix of client business growth, project delivery leadership and mentoring of developing construction management staff by leveraging top notch regional and national construction management and engineering expertise and capabilities to expand AECOM’s Pittsburgh area business.

Candidate will be responsible for maintaining current and building new relationships with clients, leading, and supporting key pursuits and functioning as a project principal or manager on major projects across Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Construction management group leadership and client development

  • Construction management staff mentoring and guidance

  • Develop construction management strategies and market research

  • Support and facilitate new project pursuits for water and wastewater construction services.

  • Partner with water/wastewater team leadership to develop traditional and alternative delivery mechanisms for projects including design-bid-build, design-build, and program management, construction management at risk, accelerated procurement, and transition to full operations.

  • Providing a variety of construction-related services for the water business including reviewing contract terms and conditions, constructability and value engineering, construction estimating and scheduling, reviewing construction RFIs, resolving contract changes, and providing quality assurance, control and inspection services

  • Projects will include pipelines, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, water resources levees, canals, reservoirs, and dams

  • Candidates must be knowledgeable of Pennsylvania water and construction management issues and trends and possess a proven track record in delivering construction services for large-scale water projects.

  • Communicates project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required.

  • Makes technical presentations

  • Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives

The role will provide an exciting opportunity to lead and grow an existing successful construction management practice.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management

  • Certified Construction Manager certification

  • 10+ years’ experience in water construction planning and management including Construction Management processes and procedures, estimating, bidding, scheduling, cost and quality control, safety, disputes avoidance and management, and risk management

  • 2+ years of leadership experience

  • Demonstrated client relationship and management skills, at all client levels (staff to executive)

  • Demonstrated department management leadership experience

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Occasional business travel of one to three days per month may be required

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree preferred

  • Pennsylvania Professional Engineer License (or ability to obtain license within 6 months) preferred

  • 15+ years’ experience in water construction planning and management including Construction Management processes, procedures, and estimating
