AECOM is seeking an
Industrial Hygienist (HSE2) to be based in our Pittsburgh, PA location.
The successful candidate:
Will be required to develop, perform and/or present a variety of safety and health training courses – examples would be Hazcom, lab safety, PPE, respirator fit testing and protection, asbestos, lead, chemical specific training such as HF, risk analysis, radiologic dosimetry, NORM surveys, occupational noise assessment, air quality, heat stress monitoring and ergonomics and others as requested.
Must have the ability to work in a team/multidisciplinary environment. This position supports/interfaces with DOE, various contractors, subcontractors and Environmental, Safety and Health professionals.
Will need to perform or have the experience in ergonomic evaluations.
Work with DOE and various contractors and sub- contractors to complete task reviews and inspections and complete Activity Hazard analysis and other reports as necessary.
Will need to review ES& H plans for completeness regarding NETL requirements.
Perform IH, asbestos, lead analysis and surveys, radiation surveys, radiologic work permits and noise surveys.
Ensure IH equipment is kept in calibration, perform chemical hygiene reports.
Ensure all deliverable milestone reports are submitted to the customer at or before they are due.
Will need to have strong language and communication skills and be able to write and edit their reports to remove grammatical errors.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Position may require travel.
Bachelors degree in safety engineering / management, industrial hygiene or health related field. Masters degree preferred.
3 years of position related experience.
Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
Knowledge/compliance experience with 29CFR1910, 1926, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and OSHA 10 or 30 hour certifications requested.
Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
Masters’ degree a plus.
Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified Safety Professional a plus.
Any safety-related Train-the-Trainer certifications a plus.
