AECOM Mid-Level Civil/Environmental Engineer in Piscataway, New Jersey
AECOM is actively seeking a Mid-Level Civil/Environmental Engineer for employment in the Piscataway, NJ office. In this important position, the successful candidate will support Project Managers and assist with environmental investigation, remediation, and design tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.
Under the supervision of a Project Manager or senior-level team member, the successful candidate will:
Assist Project Managers to successfully deliver projects on-schedule and on-budget utilizing internal AECOM systems
Perform assignments requiring application of standard engineering and environmental techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out tasks
Assist with environmental investigation and remediation tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary project team
Develop subcontractor relationships and manage implementation of their services
Assist in managing and coordinating complex field tasks involving groundwater monitoring, drilling, design and remedial construction activities
Assist with preparing permits and access agreements with numerous public agencies and other stakeholders
Assist with report writing tasks with the support of more junior staff
Task manage portions of a larger project
This is a Project Manager-track position, therefore, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently and productively in a collaborative team-environment, foster team building through inclusion and mentorship, display a high level of organization and communication, and demonstrate a strong desire to learn from Project Managers. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
BS degree in Engineering and four(4) years of related experience in environmental consulting for Federal, State, or private clients
Remedial investigation, remediation planning, and design experience
Cost estimating experience
Ability to travel for short-term regional project assignments/meetings
Valid Driver's license
Master's degree in Engineering preferred
6+ years of experience in related field, preferably environmental consulting for Federal, State, or private clients
Experience with CERCLA RI/FS and RD/RA projects with commercial or DOD clients
Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred, although consideration will be given to candidates working towards this certification
Demonstrated technical writing abilities
Strong writing, communication, and team building/leading skills
OSHA HAZWOPER 40 Hour training
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
