Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Aviation Engineer for immediate employment for the Phoenix, AZ office. This hire will report to an airfield engineer and aviation project manager.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Drafting and design for one or more airfield design projects, in accordance with the written project/construction documents and established AECOM policies and procedures

  • Builds analytic and design skills

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an

  • experienced engineer

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • Aviation design internship preferred experience

  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Some knowledge of the FAA Advisory Circulars (AC’s), FAA Design criteria, and FAA and ADOT Grant Processes and Procedures

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Microsoft Project, and AUTOCAD Civil 3D.

  • Must be able to obtain commercial airfield security clearance

  • Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license, and be able to obtain certification to drive in AOA movement areas

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
