AECOM Senior Rail Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Track Engineer with experience in rail and civil design for employment in the Philadelphia office to work in an established Rail Engineering Department, serving national and international freight and transit clients. Candidates should have experience with freight rail or transit projects including experience with rail corridor design, special trackwork, rail terminal and yard design. This position will focus on project delivery and quality in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must have demonstrated experience leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers. Significant experience leading teams or tasks utilizing InRoads, OpenRail and/or Civil 3D design software packages for the design of horizontal and vertical alignments, sections, and 3D modeling on rail and/or highway projects is required.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation engineering with 6 plus years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
Six (6) plus years of experience in the Rail/Transit environment
Four (4) years of experience developing horizontal and vertical alignments, using InRoads and/or Civil 3D software packages
Four (4) years experience coordinating with multiple disciplines for the submission of an engineering plan set
Professional Engineer (PE)
Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Familiarity in freight or transit rail clients
Previous work experience in rail is preferred
