AECOM Senior Aviation Planner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking for a Senior Aviation Planner to be based in our Philadelphia, PA office.

This position is expected to begin in December, 2021.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others.

  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products.

  • Usually performs as a staff advisor and consultant as to a technical specialty, a type of facility, industry, equipment or program function.

  • Monitors and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.

  • Oversees specialized planning functions, such as large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies.

  • Provides overall management of IE-related planning issues.

  • Advises the Planning Director on all planning-related matters.

  • Advises various councils, boards, commissions and elected officials in planning related issues

  • Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities.

  • Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • At least 6 years experience preparing various components of airport master plans, airport layout plans, terminal planning projects and various studies addressing the need for and timing of airport facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Aviation Management.

  • Pilot License

  • Airport Operations Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor junior airport planners

  • ​​​​​​​Candidates should have competency with word processing and spreadsheet computer programs such as Microsoft Office

  • ​​​​​​​Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
