Job Description
AECOM is seeking an ITS Engineer to support our Intelligent Transportation System programs in our Conshohocken, PA
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Works as part of a team and works independently in evaluating and applying Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) principles, standards, and criteria.
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tasks.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Leads in the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) packages based upon agency standards and specifications.
Interacts directly with clients at project meetings.
Adheres to project schedules, and budgets, and addresses issues in coordination with the PM.
Prepares technical reports and papers for clients and/or internal distribution.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field with 4+ years of relevant engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Experience with ITS design ( ITS Devices, Communications, Active Traffic Management, and TSMO applications.)
Engineer in Training Certificate
Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project experience with: State DOT projects (preferably PennDOT), City of Philadelphia, and/or the PA Turnpike
ITS Design experience with state DOT’s (preferably PennDOT and Delaware)
Experience with PS&E package preparation for DOT Projects & ITS Projects.
P.E. License (preferably from PA or Delaware)
