Job Description

We are inviting applications from Environmental Scientists & Environmental Engineers with demonstrated experience in environmental management in the construction and/or land remediation industry, to join our growing global team of industry experts. Based in Perth, this is an exceptional opportunity to grow your career, while learning from the best in the industry.

As Remediation Site Manager, reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful contract delivery of remediation activities across a range of projects. You will play a key role in managing and coordinating the various remediation operations including treatment of contaminated soil & groundwater, civil engineering & land-forming earthworks, remediation technologies and waste reduction, recycling & disposal.

You will provide technical advice in relation to site remediation activities, such as soil and ground water treatment, soil vapour and waste disposal and will support and review contaminated land consultant reports to evaluate remediation options and associated costs. This is a hands on role, involved with the coordination and cooperation of all site activities, ensuring operations are being managed and maintained.

The Role will include:

  • Providing technical advice (with the support of subject matter experts) in relation to site remediation activities such as soil and groundwater treatment, soil vapour and waste disposal.

  • Managing all stages of contaminated land projects, , analysing data gaps, developing conceptual site models, sampling analysis and quality plans, validating data, reporting, supporting risk assessments, analysing remedial options, remedial action plans and implementation and environmental management plans.

  • Managing the delivery on remediation programs by being AECOMs onsite representative

  • Working with contaminated land practitioners during the project life-cycle.

  • Supporting the development of Project Delivery Plans

  • Ensuring delivery of all onsite operational activities are in accordance with the Construction Environmental, Health and Safety Plan

  • Supporting the development of Environmental Management Plans, Traffic Management Plans and Materials Management Plans

  • Reviewing risk assessments and method statements to ensure hazards have been identified and suitable risk mitigation measures are in place

  • Assisting with the compiling of tender submissions including writing methodologies and providing costings.

  • Identify and contribute to the improvements to processes, work practices and overall client experiences.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with energy and enthusiasm who enjoy working collaboratively with a great team of people to provide solutions to our clients.

Some of the key skills and experiences you will need to be successful in the role are:

  • A relevant technical qualification in Environmental Engineering and/or Science

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an environmental practitioner

  • Experience in remediation and decommissioning of retail fuel service stations – highly advantageous

  • Confident around the engagement and management of subcontractors

  • Willingness to work remotely on client sites – essential

  • A driver’s licence is essential for the role
