Job Summary
AECOM’s Civil Infrastructure group in Perth is expanding. We have won and are delivering some of the largest infrastructure projects in WA and are supporting other AECOM ANZ offices for project delivery. We are also continuing to bid a strong pipeline of future work.
We require a Technical Director / Senior Design Manager to support delivery of existing projects and upcoming opportunities in a client-facing senior leadership position.
The candidate will have proven local experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams in pursuit of, and in the delivery of design for major transport and other infrastructure projects. The role includes design delivery, design management or project management , and the leadership, coordination and communication skills to, engage and guide successful project delivery teams, working with closely with end clients and contractors.
You will coordinate and provide technical overview and guidance to teams for mid to large-size projects as well as manage client relationships and contribute to business development. You will have the ability to lead, mentor and coach team members to grow technical expertise and for business development work.
As a senior member of the team you will provide specialised technical input to studies and design for your specific area of expertise and be accountable for commercial and quality outcomes on project delivery.

Minimum Requirements
Demonstrated experience in the following is essential:
Management of large design teams in a design and construct or collaborative contracting environment working closely with both the construction contractor and the client
Technical leadership and governance of multi-disciplinary teams in internal and client facing roles.
Experience in design of highways and associated transport infrastructure in WA and to Australian standards
High quality technical and non-technical report writing
Ability to communicate with influence
Demonstrated experience in the following is desirable:
Commercial/contractual management of projects on behalf of the Consultant.
Preparation of infrastructure delivery contracts and specifications.
Delivery of Preliminary Evaluation and/or Business Case projects
This role is suited to a highly motivated engineer with 20+ years’ experience, who is looking for exposure to local and international mentors to help support and drive their career.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering;
CPEng (or equivalent, or be eligible through a mutual recognition or other pathway);
