Job Description
The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Water/Wastewater Engineer for our Florida Business. The ideal candidate will have experience with the design of municipal conveyance, pumping system and treatment plant projects.
This opportunity affords the ideal candidate the following:
Opportunity to work on a variety of water resources and waste water projects which encompasses everything from small rural communities to large urban centers, and agencies with regional responsibilities.
Extensive and growing backlog of projects will provide for professional and technical skills growth and upward career mobility.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage engineering tasks, including preparing calculations, drawings, assessments, reports, and schedules.
Conduct and coordinate tasks as part of preliminary and detailed design phases of engineering projects.
Gather and correlate engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Conduct quality checks and reviews to identify discrepancies in data and/or results.
Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
Contribute to planning, design, permitting and construction phase services for water and wastewater projects as part of a team.
Communicate task progress and identify necessary resources for task delivery.
Make technical presentations internally to staff.
Support client liaison and communication efforts as part of a project team.
Responsibilities may include contributing to the preparation of reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages and documents.
Coordination with colleagues, clients, and sub-consultants will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering - preferably Civil or Environmental
4+ years of related experience, with progressive experience as a design engineer in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design, assessment and rehabilitation, conveyance, and pumping systems.
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven communication skills and demonstrated ability to successfully deliver tasks as part of multi-disciplinary and diverse teams.
Demonstrated time management and project management experience including delivering tasks and projects successfully, on time and on budget.
Must have a proven track record of identifying and designing technical engineering solutions and successfully contributing to water and wastewater projects as part of a team.
Progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design, assessment and rehabilitation, conveyance, and pumping systems.
Capable of contributing to business development activities, and to pursuing new clients/projects.
Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, or the ability to obtain Professional license within six months of employment.
