Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Structural Technician II for employment in the Orange, ca office. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to play a key role in the design and construction of a wide variety of building structures and contribute to a dynamic team of engineers, architects and technicians with a focus on delivering high quality, innovative building design solutions. In this position, you will be an important addition to the Structural Department of the Buildings + Places group, consisting of A/S/M/E/C disciplines all under one roof. Participate in a wide variety of projects including subway stations and other transit facilities, vehicle storage/maintenance facilities, office buildings, parking structures, public facilities, municipal and industrial facilities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but at not limited to:

  • Produce structural drawings of various types of building using Revit Structure

  • Must be technically competent in all aspects of structural drafting

  • Coordinate with other disciplines to check completeness and quality of structural drawings as required

  • Must be able to manage structural drafting of large and complex projects

  • Mentor and supervise junior cad drafters

  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of the engineering staff.

  • Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety, and/or code requirements.

  • Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.

  • General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.

  • Performs routine duties; viewed as fully competent within limits of experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 2 years of related experience

  • Formal training in Revit Structure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or formal certificate in CAD

  • 3-6 years of structural cad drafting of steel and concrete buildings

  • Proficient in current version of Revit Structure

  • Experience in managing all aspect of structural drafting of large and complex projects

  • Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills
