Job Description
AECOM is seeking an MEP senior Inspector to be based in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsible for setting own project deadlines.
Provides on the job training to new employees.
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
Tracks quality assurance progress.
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
Visits construction sites and inspects each stage of construction up to completion.
Interprets plans, specifications, and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with them. Monitor construction sites for safety violations and coordinate with site safety specialist. Prepares Non-Conformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards. Maintains daily inspection records and reports.
Review or prepare interim progress reports for contractor payments. Monitor and/or witness contractor testing activities. Prepare reports on labor, material, and equipment on site for both contract work and extra work activities. Determine if construction work conforms to requirements of plans and specifications; if not issue Non-Conformance Reports for corrective action as needed.
Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with project’s safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Coordinates preparation of inspection cost estimates and maintenance records.
Arranges, coordinates and oversees technical inspections of work for disciplines, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing for conformance to project specification requirements.
Coordinates independent test laboratory activities and compares verifications test results with results from Contractor’s laboratory.
May allocate inspection resources and supervise other inspectors.
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.

Under minimal direction, relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
HS + 8 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Driving is required for this position
Preferred Qualifications :
Ten (10) years of experience which reflect a progressively increasing level of responsibility on complex projects as a General Contractor, heavy construction projects, transportation, or transit construction projects for the disciplines within the work including mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Inspector license, comparable Deputy Inspection License for a county for city agency, NICET certification, or other alternative certification form an acceptable nationally recognized organization or regional agency is highly desirable where applicable to inspection of the trade or discipline related to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30 training certification.
Experience working on underground transit facilities.

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $38.83 - $71.83
