AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Plumbing Designer to design complete systems (e.g. domestic water systems, waste and vent, storm drainage, natural gas, medical gases, etc.) for a variety of projects, and develop/design solutions for technical problems of moderate scope and complexity within the plumbing discipline. This person will be based out of our Orange, California office.

Performs basic plumbing design calculations, prepares drawings using Revit and AutoCAD, and similar technical work as required
Visits project sites to gather accurate existing conditions
Visits jobsites during construction phase and identifies and confirms the proper installation of designed systems and equipment
Communicates with and coordinates with multi-discipline design teams in the preparation and/or completion of design documents
Communicates with building officials and authorities having jurisdiction regarding code issues impacting system design
Interacts and works with a diverse set of clients and subcontractors
High school diploma plus two (2) years of related experience in plumbing design or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Certified Plumbing Designer (or planning to obtain within 2 years)
Working knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD
Experience designing all plumbing systems
Proven ability to resolve complex design problems
Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
Familiarity with UFC, Design Build delivery, and various market sectors such as Tenant Improvement, DoD, Leisure, Themed Entertainment, Higher Education and Healthcare
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Understanding and application of all typical codes such as IPC, UPC, CPC, and UFC
Familiar with field conditions and able to participate and/or lead facility assessment teams
Knowledge of green building practices and LEED Rating System
LEED AP Certification
Experience with construction administration
Experience with healthcare plumbing systems
