As part of our Water Business Line, you will have the opportunity to work on very challenging projects including Dams, Levees, Pipelines, Bridges, Tunnels, Building Structures, and other Facilities, and collaborate with a wide range of other disciplines.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Oversee subsurface investigations including drilling exploration boreholes and advancing CPTs at various sites throughout Southern California
Review and assign laboratory testing for geotechnical samples
Oversee inspection of construction activities to monitor progress and assess conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction standards
Perform and oversee geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, earth retention, liquefaction, and shallow and deep foundations
Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and recommendations
Review regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting work
Prepare and/or peer review designs, specifications, and construction documents
Assemble and document geotechnical data using software that includes: Excel, Word, gINT, AutoCAD
Apply QA/QC requirements to their own work and work of the project team
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS Degree in engineering or related field of study
Six (6) years or more of relevant experience
Professional Engineer’s (PE) license
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or PhD in Civil Engineering
8-10 years or more of experience
Geotechnical California GE registration is a plus
Working knowledge of relevant California seismic code provisions
Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution
Local travel may be required
Experience working with local permitting jurisdictions
OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper Certification
OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Certification
